High-Strength, Consistent Bricks for Leading Developers
Overview
Private developers demand bricks that are consistent, dimensionally accurate and strong enough for use in multi-storey structures. For projects similar to those built by Sheltech Ltd., BTI and Eastern Housing Limited, Phoenix Ceramic & Auto Bricks Ltd. acts as a long-term supply partner rather than just a one-off vendor.
Our green tunnel kiln, combined with controlled drying and firing, allows us to deliver large volumes of uniform bricks that fit into tight quality systems and fast construction cycles.
Challenge
- Large, continuous volume requirement over extended project timelines.
- High expectations on compressive strength, water absorption and efflorescence.
- Developers working across multiple sites need predictable quality from batch to batch.
- Pressure to lower embodied carbon and move towards greener materials.
Solution
Phoenix configured a standard high-strength product line and a logistical model tailored for developers.
- Standardised brick sizes: Primary focus on 240 × 115 × 70 mm (approx. 9.5" × 4.5" × 2.75") units, with tight control on size and shape for clean masonry and reduced plaster consumption.
- High PSI performance: Bricks typically tested in the 4,500–6,500 PSI range, suitable for structural and partition walls in mid- to high-rise apartments.
- Low water absorption: Controlled drying reduces internal moisture and helps achieve lower water absorption, improving durability and reducing efflorescence risks.
- Green tunnel kiln technology: Our environment-friendly firing system optimises fuel use and reduces carbon emissions compared to traditional clamp kilns, supporting developers’ ESG commitments.
- Dedicated supply planning: For repeat clients, we prepare monthly production and dispatch plans so that site teams get bricks in the sequence and volume they need.
Outcome
Developers benefit from fewer rejected batches, less on-site sorting and faster brickwork due to consistent size and strength. The combination of long tunnel drying and controlled firing means Phoenix can maintain both quality and volume throughout the year, including during heavy rainfall.
